Background and Brief

After being repeatedly let down by other PR agencies who overpromised and underdelivered, PR Superstar was signed up by York-based online retailer, UK Juicers, to raise their profile, and that of their products in what is a super-competitive market. UK Juicers, which launched in 2000 and sells a wide range of wellness-focused kitchen appliances, from 42 world-class brands from Smeg to Vitamix and Kuvings to Sage, is rated as ‘excellent’ by Trustpilot with around 10,000 positive reviews, making it Britain’s most trusted juicer specialist. They also stock many non-juicer products that are typically found in the kitchens of health enthusiasts, such as yoghurt makers and fermenters, food processors, soya milk makers, spiralizers, air purifiers, bean and seed sprouters, and health grills.

PR Superstar was brought in to secure expert reviews of leading products sold by UK Juicers, as well as product placement, and importantly, to build high authority backlinks to the UK Juicers website to help drive traffic and improve their organic rankings on Google and other search engines.

Campaign and Results

As well as PR’ing new and exciting big-name product launches, including one of the most expensive juicers in the world, I tailored UK Juicer’s PR according to the seasons, so reached out to target journalists with offers to review ice cream makers ahead of the summer season, for example, and dehumidifiers in advance of winter.

With a key business objective being to secure those all-important backlinks, I focused first and foremost on achieving coverage in high-ranking digital media that command tens of millions of eyeballs, as this is where we all spend our leisure time; in addition to print.

To maximise PR opportunities, I targeted media across a range of relevant sectors including food & drink, home & garden, health & wellness, shopping & ecommerce, gadgets & tech media, as well as the UK national mass media.

Despite fierce competition from the likes of John Lewis and Amazon, PR Superstar secured outstanding media coverage for UK Juicers, both in terms of quality and quantity, from the likes of The Financial Times and The Times to Men’s Health and Wired.

UK Juicers has now retained PR Superstar for the fourth consecutive time in a row in 2024.
