FitnessGenes

Despite British-based global health, wellness and fitness genetic testing and interpretation company FitnessGenes launching a decade earlier and having already had numerous PR agencies during this time, PR Superstar took on the uphill challenge of achieving widespread national mass media coverage for the brand and their co-founders to drive inquiries and sales. I pushed hard and our PR resulted in many full-page and double page features – with one single article in The Times newspaper generating over £300,000 in sales. Read the case study

Home and kitchen appliance retailer UK Juicers, which is Britain’s most trusted juicer specialist according to Trustpilot, signed up PR Superstar after being repeatedly under-wowed by other public relations agencies in their native North Yorkshire. I quickly secured quality coverage in leading food & drink magazines such as BBC Good Food, prestigious tech titles like Wired, and wellbeing-focused media brands including Men’s Health, as well as UK mainstream media like The Financial Times, The Times and The Telegraph. Sophie Green, one of the world’s leading wildlife and environmental artists, approached PR Superstar wanting public relations for her forthcoming exhibition. I delivered media coverage that she could only have dreamed of, with the likes of CNN, BBC News, ITV News, Sky News and BBC Radio, including Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, interviewing Sophie and even filming her on location at her exhibition in Central London and her art studio in East Sussex. Ann Kaplan Mulholland and Lympne Castle

PR Superstar was recommended to Canadian serial entrepreneur and reality TV star Ann Kaplan Mulholland, who is worth over £500 million, by her US PR agency. They told Ann that Jill Kent of PR Superstar “looks like she knows what she’s doing”. That was over 18 months ago and today, I still represent Ann, 1,000-year-old Lympne Castle in Kent that she bought in 2023, and her many other interests and businesses in the UK and further afield. Media highlights so far on Ann and her husband, a world-renowned plastic surgeon with a medtech company listed on the NASDAQ, include a 12-page feature in HELLO! magazine, a six-page feature in The Daily Telegraph, a double page spread in The Sunday Times, and a lengthy spot on ITV1’s This Morning, which came out to film at the castle. I secured PR work for White Rabbit after I was recommended by an existing long-term client. I was tasked with raising the profile of the company’s co-founders in the national mass media and that’s exactly what they got, with coverage on TV, in print and online in major media outlets, from BBC News to The Daily Telegraph. 77 Diamonds

Tobias Kormind, founder and CEO of Europe’s largest online diamond jeweller, 77 Diamonds, approached PR Superstar after becoming a fan of the PR I had been doing for a rival. The Mayfair-based etailer has brought diamonds to the masses by selling bespoke engagement rings, wedding rings, and jewellery for the best prices in Britain – at up to 71% less than the High Street. I first worked with fitness guru Tim Walker and his business, Evolution of Man, in early 2013 to PR his no-nonsense training programme, Warrior Workout. In 2016, Walker opened his own gym in the City of London and ahead of the ambitious expansion, he wanted to create a buzz around the fitness programme and ultimately, drive bookings. I was lucky to be handed another personal PR assignment – this time for a 31-year-old businesswoman who had recently been appointed CEO of a £100M turnover company, with 500 staff and offices globally. After being let down by much bigger PR agencies, I delivered oodles of quality coverage, with this client appearing on the BBC three times no less, alongside profile pieces in The Times, The Sunday Times, The Guardian, The Independent and The Daily Mail. Former City worker turned sober coach Sandra Parker hired me to grow awareness and credibility for her online coaching business, London-based Just the Tonic, that helps high-achieving professional women in midlife to gain freedom from alcohol to live a healthier and more fulfilling existence. As someone who had battled binge drinking herself in her 30s and 40s, I placed Sandra and her personal journey at the heart of our PR, along with that of her clients. This global recruitment company hired me to grow awareness of their services in the UK and US. I focused on the growth of internships in China and the young British Mandarin-speaking owners, and achieved coverage in The FT, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg TV. Pinnacle Therapy founder and A-list psychologist Richard Reid asked me launch his ‘Charisma Masterclass’ to the media. I achieved sizeable features including The Times, who asked for an exclusive, and BBC Breakfast TV who came out to film at one of his classes. Read the case study

Balsam Hill, makers of luxury Christmas trees hired me to launch the brand in the UK and drive sales in the run-up to Christmas. As a result of this integrated PR campaign, Balsam Hill featured in every major interiors magazine, plus Britain’s biggest-selling women’s magazine, as well on ITV1 The X Factor and ITV1 The Jonathan Ross Show. I was hired by the Laura Ashley team to launch their hotels to the UK and international mass media in order to generate a buzz around the new venture. Evolve Fitness

No-nonsense Warrior Woman Workout transforms desk-bound women’s physiques from “zero to hero” in just 12-weeks – by slamming sledgehammers, climbing ropes, lifting chains, and dragging a sled. I was hired to raise awareness of this new fitness programme among the UK mass media, including women’s titles and weekend supplements. And the results rolled in…with writers from the likes of Grazia, Marie Claire, Vogue and Women’s Health signing up to do press reviews. Read the case study

Left frustrated and disappointed by big national PR agencies, REL Capital’s founder and Chairman Andy Scott brought in PR Superstar – I didn’t hang around, delivering huge profile features on him and his businesses, pretty much across the British mainstream media, including print, TV & radio, and online. David Moore, the owner of London’s Michelin-starred Pied à Terre and L’Autre Pied, is a celebrated restaurateur and TV personality on the likes of Masterchef. This PR campaign focused on his colourful 30-year career and ensured coverage in The Times, The Sunday Times, The FT, and ITV. When I launched his pop-up restaurant – AA Gill came to review it. Invasion

After being told by ‘TV Dragon’ Duncan Bannatyne that he’d never be able to compete with one of America’s best known brands, Lee McAteer set out to prove him wrong. The young entrepreneur’s mix of summer camp, gap year and tour companies aimed at UK Millennials is set to turn over £4M in 2017. Editors working on The FT to The Times to the BBC wanted interviews after I was brought on board as his personal PR. Read the case study

Rugby heroes Alistair Hargreaves and Chris Wyles were discussing what life would hold after their playing days at European champions Saracens had expired. In a light-bulb moment, Hargreaves said “Why don’t we make our own beer?” I was brought in to PR their beloved brew to help raise awareness and drive sales. Fortysomething couple Dom and Ali Beaven turned Prezola into the UK’s favourite wedding gift list service – even bigger than the famous John Lewis gift list. PR focused on their colourful personal story behind the business, with highlights including a TV interview with BBC News and profile features on the entrepreneurial pair in The Times and The Daily Telegraph. A former Managing Director at Terra Firma, the private equity group, teamed up with the former Chief Operating Officer of Centre Parcs Europe to launch Clockjack, an ethically-reared, free-range rotisserie chicken start-up.
