PR for Entrepreneurs: Public Relations for Disruptors and Go-Getters

Entrepreneur PR

PR for entrepreneurs is a vital part of your marketing mix if you want to raise your media profile, build your personal reputation, manage your image and establish yourself as an expert in your chosen field.

For the last few decades, I’ve worked with incredible entrepreneurs who have seized opportunities, taken risks, broken rules and worked incredibly hard to drive the growth of their business. They all understand that in today’s competitive landscape, it’s not enough to have an outstanding product or service. The entrepreneurs I work with know that today’s savvy audiences want to hear stories of the brains behind the brands. This is where entrepreneur PR comes in.

Every strategic entrepreneur PR campaign I deliver works hard to put you and your business at the centre of the story. I ensure every campaign generates positive media coverage, influences the public’s perception of you and your organisation, and helps build trust and credibility.

“I am grateful and honoured to be a part of the numerous organisations that rely on PR Superstar to launch, develop, and grow their businesses. In a very short time, Jill managed to have us featured in major outlets, both in print and online, in the UK and internationally; she brought in continuous television coverage; she even secured me my own monthly column in a magazine; and was at all times forthright, honest, strategic and focused. ‘Superstar’ sums it up!”Serial entrepreneur Ann Kaplan Mulholland, Founder & CEO, Lympne Castle

PR for entrepreneurs case studies

Entrepreneurs and Saracens rugby heroes Alistair Hargreaves and Chris Wyles approached me about providing PR for their Wolfpack Lager brand, which they launched following their retirement from the game. I arranged for journalists and photographers to join the pair, at pubs selling their lager, to talk about all things beer and rugby. Coverage highlights included a full-page photo feature in The Sun newspaper on the eve of Saracen’s European Champions Cup match and a double page picture spread in The Daily Telegraph during the Six Nations Championships, as well as a six-page feature in Men’s Health magazine and a TV interview on BBC News and BBC Sport. Serial entrepreneur Andy Scott of REL Capital is the turnaround king, taking firms on the verge of going bust and making them successful again. He approached me for his PR as he wanted to raise his profile as a successful entrepreneur, and he knew I could achieve high-quality coverage – and fast. Using my journalistic background and skills, the press release focused on Scott’s rags to riches story which secured outstanding coverage including full-page articles in The London Evening Standard and The Financial Times, as well as features in The Daily Mail, The Times and The Daily Telegraph. I was recommended to Canadian self-made businesswoman Dr Ann Kaplan Mulholland by her US PR agency and tasked with providing an entrepreneur PR service to raise her profile here in the UK. I was also asked to manage PR for Grade I listed Lympne Castle overlooking the English Channel in Kent, that she and her husband had purchased, as well as provide ongoing PR support for the accompanying global docu-reality TV series ‘Queen of the Castle’ which launches in 2025. The results were outstanding. To date, I have secured a 12-page feature in HELLO! magazine, a six-page feature in The Telegraph Magazine, a double page spread in The Sunday Times, and a lengthy spot on ITV1’s This Morning, who came out to the castle to film, to name a few. “As a successful entrepreneur, you are your business’s best asset and people connect with brands that have compelling narratives. I craft stories that showcase your unique talents, strengths and values, and help build your reputation.”Jill Kent, PR Superstar

My PR for entrepreneur services include:

It means my clients enjoy influential media coverage in world-leading titles like The Financial Times, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Businessweek, and Forbes. As well as top-tier men’s and women’s glossies from GQ to Vogue, and high impact broadcast channels such as BBC News, which commands over 100 million viewers every week.
  • Thought leadership: By establishing you as a thought leader in your industry, journalists and editors will seek you out for your input or perspective on an industry issue. I help establish entrepreneurs as industry experts through opinion columns, contributing articles, white papers, public speaking, podcasts and events, such as a roundtable discussion or a keynote address.
  • Social media: Social media engagement gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to reach a wider audience and share your valuable insights and expertise directly with consumers, journalists and employees. I work with my clients to ensure the messaging across all social platforms is consistent, engaging and right for the audience.
  • Media training: Fundamental to the success of any PR activity is knowing how to talk to and engage with the media. Media training for entrepreneurs ensures your tone of voice is established, your key messages are defined, and your delivery skills are up to speed, so you sound natural and comfortable, whatever the circumstances.
