Sports PR Agency: Helping you stand out from the competition

Sports PR

Sports are competitive. And not just on the field of play. If you’re a sporting brand or sports personality, then a creative sports public relations campaign is essential if you want to reach audiences, win new customers or fans, secure sponsorships or raise your profile, during or after your career. It’s also important to be able to share your story with the media with confidence and know how to use social media to build your brand.

Sport PR plays its part, as it gives you the tools you need to reach the next level and get ahead of the competition. From gyms and fitness studios to individual sports people and sporting brands: sports public relations activity helps you grow your business or build your profile, so you can maximise your image potential and compete with the best of them.

“PR Superstar – you are awesome! Jill Kent makes your PR experience truly enjoyable and the fact that Jill adds such a personal touch and has endless amounts of energy, passion and drive really does show in the fantastic return you receive.”Scott Campbell, Brand Manager, Wolfpack Lager

What you can expect from a sport PR campaign

As a sports PR agency in London, I have an excellent track record when it comes to delivering results-driven sports PR activity.

  • Engaging content: Compelling news releases and well-written stories with an interesting angle, that explain what you do and why you do it, are still the most effective way to get journalists excited. Knowing who to reach out to is key. By having unbeatable relationships with writers, editors, producers and influencers, I secure features for my clients in the top sports, health, fitness and wellbeing media outlets, from print to podcasts.
  • Media appearances: It’s important for sports personalities and brands to put themselves out there in order to attract fans, sponsorship deals and public interest. Media training ensures you know how to put your story across.
  • Social media management: Social media is an ever more important part of the PR mix. Platforms such as X, Instagram and TikTok give sports people and brands the opportunity to get involved in the conversation, to raise your profile and expand your network. A well thought through social media strategy ensures social media community engagement, whatever the platform.
  • Crisis management: Sometimes things go wrong and someone speaks out of turn on social media. Having a crisis communications plan in place and a spokesperson who is media trained will ensure minimal damage to your reputation.

“I love working with sports people. Whether you’re an individual athlete, a business, brand or an organisation, sports PR activity can help you build relationships both on and off the field with your audience, whether that’s fans, sponsors, or customers.”Jill Kent, PR Superstar

Sports PR Success Stories

Saracens rugby heroes Alistair Hargreaves and Chris Wyles approached PR Superstar about providing sports PR for their Wolfpack Lager brand, which they launched following their retirement from the game. I arranged for journalists, photographers and TV crews to join the pair, at pubs selling their lager, to talk about all things beer and rugby. Coverage highlights included a full-page photo feature in The Sun newspaper on the eve of Saracen’s European Champions Cup match and a double page picture spread in The Daily Telegraph during the Six Nations Championships. There are numerous PR companies to choose from. In London especially. But William Pullen of the city’s Dynamic Running Therapy opted for PR Superstar because he knew I could deliver. In spades. He asked me to raise awareness of his fitness and therapy service to his target audience. So PR activity included a running session with William and an emphasis on mental health. Publicity was earned in London publications the Metro and The London Evening Standard, as well as GQ, Esquire, and Vogue. Read more.

I first worked with fitness guru Tim Walker and his business, Evolution of Man, in 2013 to PR his no-nonsense men-only training programme, Warrior Workout. Walker opened his own gym in 2016 and ahead of the ambitious expansion, wanted to create a buzz. PR activity ensured I secured coverage in Men’s Health, Men’s Fitness, GQ, Mr Porter and Esquire. Read more.

I worked with Tim again on his women-only Evolve Fitness brand and invited female journalists to experience a whole month’s worth of training. My press release caught the attention of health, fitness, wellness, beauty, lifestyle and feature writers and editors, from Marie Claire and Vogue to The Sunday Times. Other public relations highlights included a full-page review in The Daily Telegraph and a double page spread in Women’s Health. Read more.

Through carefully planned sports public relations activity, I can help you build and protect your reputation across multiple mass media platforms.
